NVQ level 2 is a work based qualification. Therefore you need to be working as a plumber – either for a plumbing company or self employed.
You will have to demonstrate your ability to carry out a broad range of plumbing skills in the workplace in order to gain the NVQ level 2.
Your skills, knowledge and ability will be assessed by a qualified assessor whilst you are carrying out various jobs on site.
On average, you will have to be assessed on 5 different jobs. Depending on your range of work, this can take between 6 and 24 months.
The skills that need to be demonstrated are also included in the City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate. Once complete, with this and the assessments for the NVQ being added to your portfolio, you will then be awarded the NVQ Level 2.
